Original Spider-Man: Season 2, Volume 1 traces the origins of Spider-Man back to the scientific mishap that dramatically transformed Peter Parker into a wall-crawling super hero. Juggling a busy job at the Daily Bugle with a life of crime fighting, Spider-Man is continually tested when he comes up against numerous formidable enemies.

The season kicks off when student Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive spider during a lab experiment which sees him acquire strange new super powers. After his Uncle Ben is murdered, Peter Parker decides to put his super powers to good use by creating a crime-fighting alias, otherwise known as the web-slinging Spider-Man.

Peter Parker’s new job at the local newspaper becomes treacherous after his boss, J. Jonah Jameson is kidnapped, forcing Spider-Man to confront the evil criminal, Kingpin. In order to boost his social status at school, Peter Parker mischievously uses his spider powers to get a place on the school football team. However, he finds his plans in disarray when the wicked Sky Master kidnaps the school’s star quarterback.

Fighting those who seek to cause chaos and abuse the good nature of the innocent people of New York, can Peter Parker accept the loss of his uncle and adapt to his new role as the city’s new crime-fighting superhero?

Russell Brand: Scandalous - DVD

packshot

Russell Brand: Scandalous - Live at the 02 is available to buy on DVD from 4DVD from 09 November 2009.

Click here to buy this DVD for £11.98 (RRP: £19.99)

To celebrate the release of Russell Brand: Scandalous - Live at the 02 on DVD, we have five copies up for grabs for www.reviewgraveyard.com / www.sci-fi-online.com readers.

Russell Brand's first live DVD in two years will feature fresh stand up material inspired by the Sachsgate scandal, including Brand’s first hand experience of the media storm that followed his actions with Jonathan Ross on the BBC Radio 2 show.

From death threats to being likened to Harold Shipman, Brand rolls out 60 minutes of sharp material and slams some of the more extreme public reactions to ‘that’ phone call - “send them to Afghanistan!” The lively set, recorded during his sell out UK wide ‘Scandalous’ tour, rolls out two hours of boundary pushing, fantastically original material, confronting ideas that others would never dream of voicing.

Brand dissects his stellar rise to Hollywood fame, lives up to his notorious reputation by flirting with the audience and offers amusing animated sex tips. He pokes fun at his trademark style, defending his leggings as “Testostertrousers” and offers hysterical anecdotes about Tim Westwood and Helen Mirren.

His stateside experience of hosting the MTV Video Music Awards in 2008 is also a source of material for Brand as he infamously offended American viewers by calling U.S. President George W. Bush a “retarded cowboy fella”. Quickly realising he had to abandon his original script and present off the top of his head, Brand saves many of the original jokes for the DVD and delivers them with eloquence.

When two randy football players - Nicholas D’Agosto (TV’s Heroes) and Eric Christian Olsen (TV’s Brothers & Sisters) - finagle their way into summer cheer camp, they find themselves tossed into a world filled with pyramids, pompoms and push-up bras. Soon the high stakes, stunts and cacophonous cheers begin to infect the boys, and their hot pursuit of alpha cheerleaders - Sarah Roemer (Disturbia) and AnnaLynne McCord (TV’s 90210) - becomes more than just carnal cavorting.

In this laugh-out-loud comedy, Ford High’s star football players Shawn Colfax and Nick Brady scheme to ditch football camp so they can spend the summer surrounded by beautiful girls… at cheer camp. The guys are having the time of their lives as they use their new reputation as “sensitive guys” to talk the hotties into skinny dipping, cheering naked, and hooking up. But when Shawn falls for the gorgeous head cheerleader who’s suspicious of their motives, the players must change their game to prove Shawn’s intentions before the thrilling cheer competition finals.

Lions Gate Home Entertainment invites you to discover the work of visionary horror maestro Clive Barker in the second film instalment of the hugely successful Clive Barker series Book of Blood.

The story centers on a paranormal expert who, while investigating a gruesome slaying, finds a house that is at the intersection of "highways" transporting souls to the afterlife.

Based on the terrifying story penned by Clive Barker in the Books of Blood collection, a psychic researcher, Mary Florescu, employs Medium Simon McNeal to investigate a haunted house.

McNeal, at first, begins to fake his visions, but then real ghosts present themselves.

They attack him and carve words in his flesh, and these wordsform the rest of the stories, stories written on a literal, living Book of Blood.

The movie is directed by John Harrison and stars Jonas Armstrong (BBC’s Robin Hood) Sophie Ward (Heartbeat) and Clive Russell (Made of Honour).

Knights Of Bloodsteel - DVD

packshot

Knights Of Bloodsteel is available to buy on DVD from Brightspark Productions Ltd from 28 September 2009.

Click here to buy this DVD for £11.98 (RRP: £19.99)

To celebrate the release of Knights Of Bloodsteel on DVD, we have three copies up for grabs for www.reviewgraveyard.com / www.sci-fi-online.com readers.

In a faraway time, in the world of Mirabilis, the most valuable element is an empowering, magical ore called Dragonsteel. It has caused a new "Gold Rush" in the mining town Black Roc Keep, drawing the attention of Dragon-Eye (Mark Gibbon), an insurgent who needs the ore for world domination.

Enlisted to stop him is the Order of the Bloodsteel Knights - a motley but brave band of elves, dwarves, humans, and goblins who have vowed to uphold peace in Mirabilis, whatever the price.

Enlisted to save Mirabilis from this lethal insurgency is the venerable sorcerer elf Tesselink (Emmy® award winner Christopher Lloyd), who has been given a vital directive by the Oracle of the land (Julian Christopher). He must find the legendary magical Crucible which is the source of Bloodsteel.

To execute this perilous quest, Tesselink gathers an unlikely band of freedom fighters: two humans, Sarragoth (David James Elliott), the sworn enemy of the Brood, and Adric (Christopher Jacot), a charming con-man; the goblin Ber-Lak (Dru Viergever); and finally, the beautiful and fearless warrior elf, Perfidia (Natassia Malthe). Together this motley, but supremely talented, Order of the Bloodsteel Knights, embarks upon their dangerous mission. Dragon-Eye has unleashed lethal dragons and other horrendous creatures to find the source of the Bloodsteel and to obliterate anything that sands in his way. The extraordinary adventures of the Order have begun.
